Olivine

The design process of Olivine started with influence and inspiration of Art deco architecture in downtown Tulsa, OK and Elle Saab's Spring 2013 couture collection.

The unique armhole-collar of Olivine stemmed from the structured stole design from master patternmake, Tomoko Nakamichi, and adjusted to accentuate the shoulder blades of the wearer - fashioning graceful seduction. See this link for a presentation on the conceptualization of Olivine.

Olivine was selected and featured in the ITAA 2013 fashion show in new Orleans, Louisiana. See the design proceeding for further details.

Magenta Gills

The purpose of Magenta Gills was to design and create a resort dress for a targeted consumer. This design is specifically targeting a middle-class female consumer seeking new apparel for a Caribbean vacation (resort or cruise).

Caribbean Waves

The purpose of Caribbean Waves was to design and create a multi-functional resort dress. This design is specifically targeting a middle-class female consumer seeking new apparel for a Caribbean vacation (resort or cruise). Due to limited space in carry-on luggage and desire for a moderately priced piece, Caribbean Waves was designed to serve as a casual swimsuit cover-up that could easily reverse and transition into a dress for mealtime, drinks, dancing, or walking along the beachfront.

"Caribbean Waves" was selected for design exhibition in the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences 2017 Annual Conference.

Caribbean Waves was inspired by Kenzo’s spring 2017 ready-to-wear collection that combined functional work wear and sportswear into their metallic polished collection, as visible by slouchy pants, oversized jackets, and flashy disco influences. Caribbean Waves embodies similar trends via slouchy, kimono style sleeves, lapel center-front dress opening, and subtle shimmering of floral design in the water-like printed damask polyester textile.
